Vacation Rental Amenities

Private, quiet, and one block from beautiful Higgins Lake. These sandy beaches and crystal clear water make for excellent fun in the water. Walking distance to a public boat launch (No overnight mooring). Very close to state parks (South State Park and North State Park ) and the peaceful Marl Lake.

This fully furnished, single level cottage with a fire pit and space for trailer and boat parking is an excellent location for summer and winter fun. Snowmobilers, hunters, and boaters welcome. No Smoking.

Activities and Attractions

Summer Activities: boating & jet-skiing, canoeing & kayaking , swimming, playing on the beach, volleyball, fishing (rental boats available nearby), sun-bathing, horseshoes, hiking , scuba diving, biking (nice trails nearby), horseback riding, tubing, parasailing, water slides, go-carts, petting zoo, geocaching , etc.

Winter Activities: Ice-fishing, snow-mobiling , snow shoeing, skiing, cross-country skiing (2 miles from Cross Country Ski Headquarters and paved trails), hunting, arcades, snowball fighting and more

Activities are unlimited year round -- Mackinac only 1.5 hours away -- Traverse City only 1.1 hours -- Houghton Lake 17 mins -- Gaylord & Boyne Mountain less than 1 hour away -- Short distance to dining and dancing

Additional 6% Michigan state tax

Cleaning deposit $150 cleaning deposit is refundable when cottage is inspected and found in good condition.

Rental period - 1:00pm check-in / 10:00am check-out

Cancellation Policy - at least 30 days notice = 1/2 down payment to hold reservation is returnable. Less than 30 days notice to cancel = no refund on down payment.

Dog Rent - $100 rent plus an additional cleaning deposit of $100 which is refundable upon departure and leaving the cottage with no evidence of dog's presence. (If and when a dog is staying, the cleaning deposit amounts to $250 instead of $150)

Payment methods - You can pay from this website using Visa, MasterCard, PayPal, American Express, Bank, E-check (allow one week to clear E-checks) or Discover (just fill in the information in the blank fields below and press "Pay Now," and PayPal will guide you from there). Or you can pay by check [you need to allow 2 weeks for checks to clear] or cash.

Off Season Rates (October 1 - June 30)

$90 nightly (2 night minimum)

$500 weekly -- 10% discount to all return guests for full week's stay.

1/2 of the total cost is due as a down payment to reserve your vacation

$1100 for one month -- $550 down payment to reserve your month - balance due on arrival.

$750 monthly (multiple month) -- For an agreement to stay two or more months during the off season, the rate per month is only $750. The first two months must be paid in advance to take advantage of this offer, and 1/2 of the following month is needed to reserve it (the remainder is due before the contract for the new month is realized). In other words: the first two months must be paid in full before arrival, and 1/2 the cost ($375) of any additional month must be paid before reserving it. The remainder of each month must be paid before the arrival of said month.
